A good deal of the rest of my holidays was spent on another proposal, this one not to a Council for Educational Research, but to a publisher, and not for an individualised maths learning programme, but for a comic about a Chinese-English detective who lives in the Himalayas.
And I’m proud to report that the ten-page preview sampler for Inspector Fu and the Snow Leopard is done. It has been several years since I started it, but it’s ready to print.
Well almost. Grant still has to get back to me on the final proofreading, and I’ll need to get colour samples from the printer and make sure that the colours I want are what’s actually going to come out at the other end, but I’ve stopped drawing.
Next we have to convince a publisher to give us an advance so I can draw the other… ninety-odd pages. Or however many it turns out to be. To be honest, I’ve only read the rest of the script once.
Shake! Goddamn! Get off your ass and jam!
