Current phone status: everything seems to be working except the sleep button and wi-fi.

I seem to have spoken too soon. Phone is unresponsive and won’t turn off. Back in the ricebox it goes.

I am not following the football closely, but I gather that Venezuela is the team that’s “making all the noise” this year.

After an overnight rice bath in a warm dry place, my phone seems to be in working order.

Have dropped phone in toilet. Now sitting over the heater on a bed of dry rice for maximum water removal power.

Briefly considered trying print and TV news again, until they started this farcical witch-hunt over trifling expenses.
