Except that surely you remain dependent on unpredictable buses in the sense that you depend on them not turning in unexpected directions and thus reducing your pedal power into a modern art object.
This is true, but not as big a problem as it might seem. Buses are unpredictable in the sense that my mental map of their overall route doesn’t always match the actual one. But at the finer level of changing lanes, indicating, giving way and that sort of thing, I seldom have trouble understanding their intentions.
